what is elm city kids?
Kids are a priority for us here and our goal is to partner with parents to help build a spiritual foundation for their children's lives. We want kids to learn more about Jesus in a way that is both exciting, creative, and age-appropriate. We are passionate about making sure our kids are well-cared-for in a safe and fun environment!
In this season, we are focusing our efforts on five main things for
kids and families: Community Learning, Missions, Parent Coaching,
Worship, and Home Engagement.
Community Learning: In-person Kids Church at Elm City! Join us
on Sunday mornings for crafts, Bible stories, and the simple act of
playing and learning together.
Missions: Learn about missions and new places around the world
as part of the take-home materials provided. Pray for these people
and places as a family.
Parent Coaching: Coming alongside parents to help them lead
kids in the way of Jesus through trusted resources
Worship: Enjoy a 30-minute virtual kids service every week - from the comfort of home - full of singing, dancing, Bible stories, teaching, and fun. Watch the latest episode each Sunday at 9:30am. View all previous episodes Here.
Home Engagement: Teaching your kids about Jesus on a day-to-day basis, with the help of our Bible readings, activities, and prayers: provided for you!
Plan for Sundays
Each Sunday we will host two (2) rooms available for kids and led by parents and volunteers. The rooms won’t be separated by ages; we prefer to keep families together in this season to reduce exposure for kids and families. During community learning, there will be loosely structured crafts, Bible stories, prayer, and snack, and the adult worship service can be streamed LIVE on the TV. We are also encouraging the leaders in the room to have kids start and end the service in worship with their parents. Community learning will be easy going, flexible, and fun for kids aged birth - 2nd grade!
Families who participate in community learning will be asked to sign a COVID waiver, sign their kids up in advance so we are able to plan for the rooms and volunteers, and go through a standard COVID check-in process when arriving on Sundays. We are also asking that all adults wear masks while volunteering with the kids. Masks for the kids are recommended.*
*We are regularly updating our specific COVID policies and procedures.
